This month I read We Were Liars, by E. Lockheart. This book is about a family that lives on a private island during summer. After the main character Cadence has a traumatic brain injury she cannot remember much or how she got hurt in the first place. Throughout the novel she remembers more bits and pieces from her summer when she was 15. As she spends this summer when she is 17 the memories come back to her. When she finally finds out what happened it is the biggest plot twist ever! I loved this book because of the giant plot twist at the end and the love between Gat and Cady. I never saw the twist coming and it was so shocking for me. I also loved this book because I could really prove everything together like a puzzle and I love when I can make predictions. This is definitely one of my top reads so far and I can’t wait to read the prequel Family of Liars, by E. Lockheart. My favorite character is Johnny because he can be funny but also serious when he really needs to be “I was just a stupid ****. But not mad. Never mad. I’m sorry, Cadence.” This quote shows that he is being serious even though his character is funny and easy going. My favorite quote from We Were Liars is “Do not accept an evil you can change.” I love this quote because it means that of you do not like something and be you want to change it then you should not just accept it and instead do something about it. I agree with this quote and I think it is a good message to live by and that is why it id my favorite quote.

If I could have any job in the word I would be a teacher. I would be a teacher because I love to teach my little sister things. I like this because when she finally understands it she gets so happy and it’s like you can almost see a spark in her eyes. I would also like to be a teacher because I love kids. I love kids because they are so funny and kind and can always cheer me up when I’m having a bad day. Whenever I am having a bad day as soon as I get home from school I hang out with my little sisters or my neighbor who is little and they always find some way to cheer me up and make my day so much better. I would also love to be a teacher because I want to make sure that the kids in my class remember me as a nice person and a nice teacher. So far I have had excellent teachers that I remember for their kindness. The last reason I want to be a teacher is so I can make school fun for the kids. At times school can be very boring and I always want my kids to be excited to come to school and excited to learn something new. These are all the reason I would LOVE to become a teacher.

This month I read Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austin. This book is about a family and their daughters trying to find someone to marry. Jane, the eldest daughter loves a man named Mr. Bingley. At the neighborhood ball they threw to welcome Mr. Bingley and Mr. Darcy, Jane’s little sister Elizabeth meets Mr. Darcy who is Mr. Bingley’s best friend. Elizabeth thinks Mr. Darcy is cold and has too much pride. Mr. Darcy thinks he is too good for Elizabeth. They then get to know each other more. Throughout the book some major events happen that may affect the love interests bringing them closer or farther apart. I liked this book because I love romance and there were so many things happening it was hard to keep up but in the end it all fits together like a puzzle and the book shows you multiple perspectives throughout the characters. My favorite character is Elizabeth because she always speaks her mind. A quote that proves this is when Elizabeth says, “I am perfectly serious in my refusal.” This shows that Elizabeth speaks her mind because she didn’t say yes to Mr. Collins and when he kept asking her to marry him she said that. My favorite quote from Pride and Prejudice is “Angry people are not always wise.” This quote is my favorite because it displays that when you are angry or upset you can say things you don’t mean and I can relate to that.

I have just turned invisible for twenty-four hours. The first thing I would do is go to Sephora. When I am at Sephora I will take all of the Dior lip oils and steal all the drunk elephant and watch the ten year olds cry because they won’t have anything that is ruining their skin. Then I will throw all of it in the toilet because I would never use that stuff. Then I would go to Starbucks and take all the ingredients and recipes to make all the drinks so I could have them at home and be happy. Then I would go to Petco and get a bunch of toys for my cat. Then I would wait until I was not invisible so that I could play with my cat and show my grandma all the stuff I took from Starbucks and Sephora.

Life on an abandoned island is hard. Every day I wake up and gather water from the springs to water many plants. Then I harvest some of my plants to make meals for the day. After that, I go and catch some fish for dinner. Then I relax in my hammock and scroll through instagram. Next, my cousins come over and we play sardines. On the island there are many places to hide. You can hide in the palm trees on the shore, or in the tide pools behind the rocks. You could roam through the grassy fields that look just like the ones in The Sound of Music. After that, I sing with my choir and then I go to bed in my hammock.

Once apon a time beautiful princess named Jane and her pet monkey Jack decided to go to the pool. They were at their grandmas condo complex walking to the pool with a beach ball. It took a while because monkey Jack was SO fat. Jane overfed him every day. He weighed 39589392 lbs. When they finally got to the pool, they both stood on opposite ends of the pool and they threw the ball to each other. But one time, monkey Jack decided to belly bump the beach ball. The beach ball flew through the air and was about to hit the princess in the face! Put then super Gaga appeared out of the clouds. He stopped the ball with his mighty force and then gave it back to princess Jane. Princess Jane was in awe of super Gaga’s strength. He then floated back into the clouds and monkey Jack and princess Jane fountained to play until they could see the sunset shining on the pool.

The book I read this month was Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. I have not finished yet, but I am on page 137. This book is about a girl names Bella Swan who is seventeen years old. Bella decides to move to Forks, Washington to live with her dad, Charlie because her mom got married to Phil who is always moving around since he plays baseball. Bella didn’t want to hold her mom back from going with Phil so she moved to Forks. At Forks she meets Edward Cullen and falls in love with him. Then she figures out Edward is a vampire and that puts her in danger. However,Bella is so in love with Edward that she can’t leave him even if it puts her life at stake.

I liked this book because it always keeps you on the edge of your chair and it makes you not want to put the book away even when it’s 3am and your moms yells at you and takes everything away and then your cranky the next day. I also liked this book because it was full of action and it never got boring.

My favorite character from the book is Alice, Edward’s adopted sister. She is my favorite because she is very welcoming towards Bella and when Bella gets sick, Alice was the one to bring Bella’s truck back. Alice also just cares a lot about people. She is also always there for her boyfriend jasper when he is having a rough time.

My favorite quote is “About three things I was absolutely positive. First, Edward was a vampire. Second, there was a part of him-and I didn’t know how potent that part might be-that thirsted for my blood. And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.” Pg. 83. This is my favorite quote because Meyer really gets the feeling across on how much Bella loves Edward. I also like this quote because it shows Bella’s realization that she loves Edward and that he is a vampire and is dangerous to her, but she loves him anyways.

My favorite quote from Dumbledore is “We must all face the choice between what is right and what is easy.” To me, this quote means that even though you may want to do the easiest thing for you, you must think of other people and not yourself. You should always think of others before you act and do what you think is right. This quote relates to me the most because I always want to take the easy way out even though it might not make others happy. In the end, I know I have to do whats right, even if it takes a little more effort. It is very easy to find yourself in a situation where you want to do whatever is easiest and most convenient for you, but in those times you should think of this quote and the other people around you. Always do what is right, even if it is hard for you or not as convenient.

Katherine is my hero. She is my hero because she is very kind. Whenever I am sad, Katherine is always there to make me feel better. I know I can always talk to her about anything and she will never judge me. I also look up to Katherine because she is such a good friends. Katherine never talks bad about her friends and is very trustworthy. I like that I don’t have to worry that Katherine will tell everyone my secrets. I can tell her anything and she wont go around telling everyone. Kathrine is also very smart. She always helps me if I am stuck in class and don’t know what to do because she listens and I don’t. She always explains to me what to do clearly and in a way that I can understand. These are only three reasons why Katherine is my hero although there are so many more.

My word of intention for 2024 is self-love. There are 3 different reasons I want to work on self-love in 2024. The first reason is to be happy with myself. Since I am very insecure, this year I really want to feel confident in my body. The second reason is, if I’m happy with my body, my mental health will be better and I will have a better mindset. Having a good mindset is important for me because then I will be more confident at school and not second guess myself which will help me succeed in school. The third and final reason is because I deserve to love myself and be confident with my own body. Since I have been bullied for my body in the past, it has been hard for me to be comfortable in my body. I know that I might not fully accomplish loving myself in 2024, but that is ok. As long as I try my hardest, I will be very happy with myself.
