20% Project – Week 3

For my 20% project I am still learning to crochet. This week I was trying to get more comfortable with connecting chains. I accomplished connecting the chains even though it looked horrid. I was working outside and I think the fresh air helped me concentrate more and really focus on connecting the chains. Some of my struggles included trying to cut the string because I forgot scissors. I also struggled with making the connected chains look good. When I made the chain it looked very clumped up and knotted so I asked my friend who is good at crochet if it was supposed to look like that and she said no so I knew I did it wrong. It was also very hard for me to concentrate this week. Next week I will continue to work on connecting my chains and maybe finding a pattern to follow. Hopefully I can accomplish this next week!

My Fandabidozie Bedroom

Out of all of the rooms in my house, my bedroom is by far my favorite. I love my bedroom because it is just so cozy. My floral bedsheets are perfect for cuddling with my cat and getting cozy while playing Roblox in my bed. I also love to sit on my window seat when it isn’t covered with clothes and read my book while the window is open and the birds are chirping. I also love my purple walls and how my posters of many musicals that I have seen cover the walls. There are many little holes on the walls from thumbtacks though. Although I don’t have a television in my room, I can still watch movies and videos on my projector which is pretty much a television. I also love that in my room my cat, Bernie, always waits for me on the piles up clothes on the purple pillows that line my window seat. If only I had a fridge in there, I would never be able to leave because I also have a en-suite bathroom.

20% Project Week 2

I am still trying to learn how to crochet for my 20% project. This week I didn’t really learn anything new. I accomplished remembering how to make a chain and I started to make it thicker but then it broke and got stuck. I struggled with learning to make the chain thicker. It just keeps getting stuck and I don’t know what I am doing wrong. Next week I plan to continue learning to make it thicker. I will probably watch some videos to help me learn or I will ask my mom because she is my mentor and a very talented crocheter. I think I will have to use next week to learn and accomplish making a thicker chain. I really hope I can learn. I hope I don’t have to take three weeks learning to make it thicker. I just really don’t understand it and it gets so tight and hard to put the needle through and then pull the yarn through.

Joshua Tree

Every spring me and my dad and sisters go to Joshua Tree with a daddy/daughter camping group with all my friends. We start the day with getting some breakfast from the dads that made it. It is totally off the grid so we have to bring our own stuff. After we go through the line and get our breakfast, we head up to the rocks to eat our breakfast and watch the sun. Then we throw away our trash and get dresses for the day. After that we climb on the rocks until about 11:00 A.M. Then we get in the car and drive to the dry lake bed to shoot off rockets. It smells so good when they all shoot off. Then we drive over to a restaurant called Steak n’ Shake. This is my favorite place to eat and we only go there once a year! Then we head back to the campground and climb some more. Finally we have an epic dinner and roast marshmallows. Then we drift to sleep after a long long day of fun.

20% Project Week #1

For my 20% project I am trying to learn how to crochet. This week I learned how to make a chain. I accomplished making a really long chain but then I wanted to go back to make the chain thicker and I couldn’t. I struggled with getting the crochet needle into the stitches to go and make the chain thicker. I don’t need to adjust anything because I still got to my goal of learning how to make a chain for week 1. I think next week will be harder because I want to learn to go back and I struggled with that a lot this week. I might need a little more time next week to learn how to go back because it was really hard for me this week. I don’t really understand how to do it and I keep making my stitches to tight and I don’t know how to stop that. Hopefully next week I understand it a little more and get back on track.

The Best Dinner Ever

I have the opportunity to invite any three people of my choosing to dinner. The first person I would invite is my Grandma Sandy. She died before I was born and I’ve always wanted to meet her. My family describes her as a fun, loving, and cheerful person. The second person I would invite is Gilbert Blythe from the television show Anne with an E. I would invite him because in the show he is very nice and cute. I would love to look at him and talk with him. The third person I would invite is my best friend Mila. I would invite her because she could help me talk to Gilbert and help me make him my boyfriend. These are all the people I would invite to my dinner.

Rad Reading – March

This month I read We Were Liars, by E. Lockheart. This book is about a family that lives on a private island during summer. After the main character Cadence has a traumatic brain injury she cannot remember much or how she got hurt in the first place. Throughout the novel she remembers more bits and pieces from her summer when she was 15. As she spends this summer when she is 17 the memories come back to her. When she finally finds out what happened it is the biggest plot twist ever! I loved this book because of the giant plot twist at the end and the love between Gat and Cady. I never saw the twist coming and it was so shocking for me. I also loved this book because I could really prove everything together like a puzzle and I love when I can make predictions. This is definitely one of my top reads so far and I can’t wait to read the prequel Family of Liars, by E. Lockheart. My favorite character is Johnny because he can be funny but also serious when he really needs to be “I was just a stupid ****. But not mad. Never mad. I’m sorry, Cadence.” This quote shows that he is being serious even though his character is funny and easy going. My favorite quote from We Were Liars is “Do not accept an evil you can change.” I love this quote because it means that of you do not like something and be you want to change it then you should not just accept it and instead do something about it. I agree with this quote and I think it is a good message to live by and that is why it id my favorite quote.

My Dream Job

If I could have any job in the word I would be a teacher. I would be a teacher because I love to teach my little sister things. I like this because when she finally understands it she gets so happy and it’s like you can almost see a spark in her eyes. I would also like to be a teacher because I love kids. I love kids because they are so funny and kind and can always cheer me up when I’m having a bad day. Whenever I am having a bad day as soon as I get home from school I hang out with my little sisters or my neighbor who is little and they always find some way to cheer me up and make my day so much better. I would also love to be a teacher because I want to make sure that the kids in my class remember me as a nice person and a nice teacher. So far I have had excellent teachers that I remember for their kindness. The last reason I want to be a teacher is so I can make school fun for the kids. At times school can be very boring and I always want my kids to be excited to come to school and excited to learn something new. These are all the reason I would LOVE to become a teacher.

Rad Reading – February

This month I read Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austin. This book is about a family and their daughters trying to find someone to marry. Jane, the eldest daughter loves a man named Mr. Bingley. At the neighborhood ball they threw to welcome Mr. Bingley and Mr. Darcy, Jane’s little sister Elizabeth meets Mr. Darcy who is Mr. Bingley’s best friend. Elizabeth thinks Mr. Darcy is cold and has too much pride. Mr. Darcy thinks he is too good for Elizabeth. They then get to know each other more. Throughout the book some major events happen that may affect the love interests bringing them closer or farther apart. I liked this book because I love romance and there were so many things happening it was hard to keep up but in the end it all fits together like a puzzle and the book shows you multiple perspectives throughout the characters. My favorite character is Elizabeth because she always speaks her mind. A quote that proves this is when Elizabeth says, “I am perfectly serious in my refusal.” This shows that Elizabeth speaks her mind because she didn’t say yes to Mr. Collins and when he kept asking her to marry him she said that. My favorite quote from Pride and Prejudice is “Angry people are not always wise.” This quote is my favorite because it displays that when you are angry or upset you can say things you don’t mean and I can relate to that.

Invisible

I have just turned invisible for twenty-four hours. The first thing I would do is go to Sephora. When I am at Sephora I will take all of the Dior lip oils and steal all the drunk elephant and watch the ten year olds cry because they won’t have anything that is ruining their skin. Then I will throw all of it in the toilet because I would never use that stuff. Then I would go to Starbucks and take all the ingredients and recipes to make all the drinks so I could have them at home and be happy. Then I would go to Petco and get a bunch of toys for my cat. Then I would wait until I was not invisible so that I could play with my cat and show my grandma all the stuff I took from Starbucks and Sephora.
